I can kind of understand someone feeling like they may have the best chance of surviving by cooperating, but it still boils down to a crap shoot. At the time of an attack, you have no idea what the criminal intends to do, and really you have no idea what you are going to do. It is a situational reaction, and to already have your game plan focused around surrendering and cooperating no matter what the situation blows my mind. It was extremely frustrating for me to hear and impossible to understand. They are both delusional! I think she would be surprised if she was actually in that situations you described.
